Astria

The Kamelatitan rolled over the other dinosaur and takes another bite out of it before focusing its eyes on us. The meadow around us had a few trenches but we could dive into for cover but other than that we were entirely exposed. Our only option was to fight.

"Start chanting," I shouted to Ruby. She brought her hands together and bowed her head and began.

I readied my weapon. I wasn't about to let the Kamelatitan get close. My strategy was pretty simple. First, I would use arcane blast. Maybe I would get lucky and hit it between the eyes. Blind it and I could use the sword the faun had entrusted to me. Its body was already damaged. I could sense there was a bleeding effect present. All I had to do was weaken it a bit more.

The Kamelatitan charged. Just like I thought. Except taking a bite out of the dino had helped it regain some of its stamina.

I held out my hand as it came within thirty meters of us. I hadn't thrown an arcane blast that far yet, but it was still worth an attempt. I couldn't risk it getting closer. Stunned the beast turned away from us turning and launching a strike with its tail. I felt it hit me in the side knocking me backwards across the ground.

"Anytime Ruby," I shouted. I knew she needed more time. The attack she was working on summoning would kill her if she used it improperly. As she stood there in trance, I knew I was just wasting my words.

The Kamelatitan was frenzied. It was blind but I had hit it hard enough in the skull make it mad. It's eyes were glowing red like some kind of monster had taken control of it and honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised. The monster had entered into a kind of second stage attack digging up and throwing dirt in the air. Launching it like projectiles at us and every direction. The beast must have been seeing double.

Dodge, roll, parry. I felt like I was back at the academy letting others throw rocks at me as I blocked ground dirt with my sword. I felt like I was mastering shadow step as I moved quicker and quicker across the ground. When I saw my opening, I took it. Aiming my body at the creature's neck I forced my sword between skin and muscle and felt it sink into the bone. It began shaking me off as I climbed over it riding it like a horse.

Ruby was surrounded by a large blue aura as she came out of her trance and began walking towards us. The Kamelatitan was doing its best to throw me aside, toss me to the ground and trample me. If it had I would be dead. I couldn't even imagine how much the beast weighed. One wrong move and I was done.

"Stay back," I shouted. Ruby continued forward. Her eyes glowing. I had no idea what she was doing as she held out her hands.
